Basketball Game Preview: Hemingway Tigers vs. Carvers Bay Bears

Hemingway is 0-10 against Carvers Bay since December of 2019 but things could change on Friday. The Hemingway Tigers will host the Carvers Bay Bears at 8:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Wednesday, Hemingway beat Lake View 50-43.

Among those leading the charge was Jabari Pearson, who posted 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nasir Brooks, who put up 14 points.

Meanwhile, Carvers Bay had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21.4 points) and they went ahead and made it nine on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Trojans by a score of 56-46.

Carvers Bay has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 14 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.8 points per game. As for Hemingway, their victory bumped their record up to 5-12.

Hemingway was taken down by Carvers Bay 66-33 in their previous matchup back in January. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Carvers Bay's Kenard Heyward, who went 10 of 17 en route to 24 points in addition to six rebounds and four steals.
