Basketball Recap: Calabasas Gets the Win

Calabasas won the last time they faced Grant and things went their way on Saturday too. The Calabasas Coyotes escaped with a win against the Grant Lancers by the margin of a single free throw, 59-58. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Coyotes.

Several Lancers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was RONALD MERRILL, who went 6 of 14 on his way to 15 points. The game was MERRILL's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kai Setareh, who posted 11 points and seven rebounds.

Calabasas has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.6 points per game. As for Grant, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Calabasas and Providence will round out the year against one another at at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday. Providence will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Calabasas surely won't give up without a fight. As for Grant, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 72-44 win against Faith Baptist on the 23rd.
