Softball Game Preview: Cuyahoga Falls Black Tigers vs. Aurora Greenmen

Cuyahoga Falls hasn't had much luck against Aurora recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Black Tigers will head out on the road to square off against the Greenmen at 5:00 p.m.

Cuyahoga Falls is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 12 runs on Friday, they were much more limited against Copley on Monday. They came up short against the Indians, falling 7-1. The Black Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Cuyahoga Falls saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ireland Mills, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

Meanwhile, Aurora waltzed into their game on Tuesday with 15 straight wins... but they left with 16. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Rough Riders a 10-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Greenmen, who have now won 14 matches by eight runs or more so far this season.

Aurora's victory was their 19th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 19-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.1 runs on average over those games. As for Cuyahoga Falls, their loss dropped their record down to 4-14.

Cuyahoga Falls might still be hurting after the 12-1 defeat they got from Aurora when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Black Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
