Naples's Max Joseph rumbled for the longest rushing play in 6A District 12 this season in his game against Golden Gate last week. Joseph scampered for 71 yards on the play and finished with 83 on the day as his team beat the Titans.
Naples extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Golden Gate, 43-10. The win marks fifth in a row for the Bill Kramer's team.
The Golden Eagles' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Kilton Anderson threw for 115 and two touchdowns and Tyler Byrd had 44 yards receiving. On the ground Manny Morgan chipped in 159 yards. Travis Manhardt helped Naples' passing attack out by catching one ball for 28 yards.
Palmetto Ridge's Sean Hatch and Javion Morgan have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Hatch has thrown for 567 yards this season, while Morgan has 18 catches for 360 yards. Morgan from Naples leads the league in rushing with 861 yards.
The top two teams in 6A District 12 will face off this week when first place Naples takes on second place Barron Collier. Last week, the Golden Eagles beat Mike DiGrigoli's team, while Barron Collier bested Lely.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Naples takes on the Cougars. The Golden Eagles have allowed 59 points this season, while Barron Collier has given up 25. Naples allowed 10 points last week as it bested the Titans.
The Golden Eagles took down Golden Gate 43-10 last week, the largest margin of any game. Anderson ran for 64 yards in the win.
