Rigby faced Shelley in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Trojans came out on top in a nail-biter against the Russets, sneaking past 3-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Trojans.

Rigby took Shelley into a fifth set where they got it done with a seven-point win. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-21, 19-25, 23-25, 15-8.

Brinley Bybee paced Rigby's offense, picking up 28 kills. Bybee got some help from Madison Jensen and her 52 assists. Jensen and Bybee didn't slow down when it came to serving: they led the team with three apiece.

Rigby's win bumped their record up to 12-2. As for Shelley, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-3.

Rigby wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Pocatello on the 16th. As for Shelley, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-1 win against Skyline on the 16th.
