Volleyball Recap: Mississinawa Valley Beats Ansonia for Their Eighth Straight Victory

Mississinawa Valley waltzed into their contest on Saturday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Ansonia Tigers. For the Blackhawks, this counts as revenge for the 3-2 victory the Tigers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2024.

Mississinawa Valley had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 25-11, 25-21.

Cora Hoggatt paced Mississinawa Valley's offense, picking up ten kills. Hoggatt got some help from Danika Neargarder and her 29 assists. Neargarder was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Mississinawa Valley's win bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Ansonia, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-4.
