Recap: Wes-Del Warriors vs. Yorktown Tigers
The Wes-Del Warriors lost against the Yorktown Tigers back in January of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Wes-Del was beaten by Yorktown 44-8. Wes-Del has struggled against Yorktown recently, as their match on Thursday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Leading Yorktown to victory were Lilly Sylvester and Jayde Garrett. Sylvester scored eight points along with three steals, while Garrett dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds. Those 11 points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Addy Barnes, who scored seven points.
Wes-Del's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Yorktown, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wes-Del will face off against Southern Wells at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Yorktown, they will head out on the road to face off against Frankton at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
