Softball Recap: Auburn Comes Up Short

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Auburn couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell just short of the North Boone Vikings by a score of 1-0 on Saturday. The Trojans were not able to make up for their defeat to the Vikings from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

This is the second loss in a row for Auburn and nudges their season record down to 27-7. Even worse, they were so close both times: the losses came by an average of only 1.5 runs. As for North Boone, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 28-7 record this season.

As of now, neither Auburn nor North Boone have any future games scheduled.
