Baseball Game Preview: Miramonte Matadors vs. Piedmont Highlanders

The Miramonte Matadors will head out to take on the Piedmont Highlanders at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Miramonte is headed into Tuesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Saturday. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of Petaluma.

Meanwhile, Piedmont's undefeated season came to an end after three games on Friday. They came up short against Head-Royce, falling 7-1. The loss was the Highlanders' first of the season.

Diego Delventhal was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run. That home run marked the first that he launched this season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Piedmont fell to 3-1. As for Miramonte, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

Miramonte suffered a grim 8-2 defeat to Piedmont in their previous matchup back in April of 2021. Can Miramonte avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
