Baseball Game Preview: Knightstown Panthers vs. Hagerstown Tigers

The Knightstown Panthers will face off against the Hagerstown Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in Knightstown's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Hagerstown has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.

If Knightstown beats Hagerstown with 13 runs on Thursday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. The Panthers put the hurt on Daleville with a sharp 13-3 victory on Wednesday. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by seven runs or more this season.

Knightstown saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Braylon Johnson, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those four RBI gave Johnson a new career-high. Another was Jackson Daves, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Knightstown always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .553. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Daleville only posted an OBP of .200.

Meanwhile, Hagerstown came up short against Wapahani on Tuesday and fell 7-2.

Hagerstown's loss dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Knightstown, their win bumped their record up to 11-2.

Knightstown beat Hagerstown 5-2 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
