Encinal is 2-8 against Piedmont since May of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. Encinal will be playing in front of their home fans against Piedmont at 3:30 p.m. Encinal will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last.
On Friday, Encinal needed a bit of extra time to put away Skyline. They blew past the Titans 14-8. With that victory, the Jets brought their scoring average up to 6.5 runs per game.

Sebastian Brune looked comfortable as he pitched 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Encinal is undefeated when he allows at most two walks, but 1-3 otherwise.
At the plate, Shaun Presley was a standout: he got on base in three of his six plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. He is becoming a predictor of Encinal's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 2-3 when he doesn't). Evan Furuichi was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in four of his six plate appearances.
Encinal kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in May of 2024.
Meanwhile, Piedmont was able to grind out a solid win over Healdsburg on Saturday, taking the game 4-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Highlanders.
William Ferreira looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in May of 2024.
On the hitting side, Piedmont saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Markos Lagios, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases Lagios has posted since back in April of 2024.
Encinal's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Piedmont, their win bumped their record up to 6-2.
