Recap: Beaver Bobcats vs. Ambridge Bridgers
The Beaver Bobcats waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with three straight wins but they left with four. They came out on top against Ambridge by a score of 78-65. Given Beaver's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 224th, while Ambridge is ranked 499th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Ty Butler, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Nick Krzeczowski, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 13 rebounds.
Beaver's win bumped their record up to 11-9. As for Ambridge, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-16.
Beaver will look to defend their home court on Friday against North Catholic at 7:30 p.m. North Catholic has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 1,370 points over their last 18 contests. As for Ambridge, they will head out on the road to face off against Lincoln Park Performing Arts at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lincoln Park Performing Arts is coming into the contest with six straight wins at home, meaning Ambridge will have to defend against a team hungry for a victory.
