Basketball Recap: West Shore Takes a Loss

If West Shore was feeling good fresh off their 51-28 takedown of Odyssey Charter School last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The West Shore Wildcats received a blow on Monday as they fell 48-34 to the Satellite Scorpions. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 47-30 back in December of 2024.

Despite the loss, West Shore still got an impressive performance from Kaelani Luther, who posted 18 points. Luther's evening made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Tiffany Duong was another key player, putting up no points along with five rebounds and four steals.

Satellite got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Halyn Hargis out in front who earned 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Leigh Hertel, who had 11 points.

West Shore dropped their record down to 4-10 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Satellite, they now have a winning record of 10-9.

West Shore will challenge Titusville at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. West Shore is facing Titusville at the right time seeing as Titusville is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Satellite, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 49-37 win against Edgewood on the 28th.
