Football Recap: Reggie Gray Jr Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Whitney Young

Morgan Park won the last time they faced Whitney Young and things went their way on Friday too. The Mustangs strolled past the Dolphins with points to spare, taking the game 28-12. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Mustangs.

Morgan Park got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Reggie Gray Jr out in front who rushed for 141 yards and one score while picking up 7.8 yards per carry. Those 141 rushing yards gave Gray Jr a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Nasir Rankin, who gained 94 total yards and a touchdown.

Morgan Park didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Darrell Mattison.

Although Whitney Young took the loss, they still got scores from Maxwell Warner and Bennett Duross.

The win got Morgan Park back to even at 2-2. As for Whitney Young, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Morgan Park has already played their next contest, a 30-0 victory against Phillips on the 27th. As for Whitney Young, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 24-6 win against Lincoln Park on the 26th.
