The Holly Grove Christian Eagles will head out on the road to take on the Chincoteague Ponies at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Holly Grove Christian has given up an average of 10.3 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Holly Grove Christian let Sophie Daniels and Ella Powell run wild. Daniels got on base in all five of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI, while Powell got on base in four of her six plate appearances with three stolen bases, four runs, and one double. Powell is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Samantha Porter, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.
Meanwhile, while Chincoteague put up some runs on Monday, the same can't be said for Snow Hill. The Ponies came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 10-0 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). The high-scoring effort was just what the Ponies needed considering they were shut out in their previous match.
Meredith Wright was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. Anslyn Greenwood was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Chincoteague always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .536. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Holly Grove Christian's record now sits at 4-2. As for Chincoteague, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.
Chincoteague's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Holly Grove Christian has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 11.3 hits per game. It's a different story for Chincoteague, though, as they've been averaging 9.4 hits. Given Holly Grove Christian's sizable advantage in that area, the Ponies will need to find a way to close that gap.
Holly Grove Christian might still be hurting after the 11-1 defeat they got from Chincoteague in their previous meeting on April 1st. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
