Baseball Recap: Bruton Takes a Loss

Bruton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 20th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 14-3 to the Smithfield Packers. If the Panthers were looking for revenge after losing 12-0 to the Packers when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Ty Yates was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 3-for-3.

Bruton's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. Smithfield has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bruton will square off against Northampton at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Smithfield, they will challenge Lafayette at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
