Football Recap: Sherwood Marksmen vs. Stockton/Sheldon
If Sherwood was feeling good fresh off their 38-0 takedown of Pleasant Hope last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Marksmen took a 33-28 hit to the loss column at the hands of Stockton/Sheldon on Friday. The Marksmen lost against Stockton/Sheldon in their previous head to head back in October of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 57-14 score last time.
Sherwood lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Logan Mueller, who threw for 204 yards and three TDs while completing 72.7% of his passes, and also punched in one touchdown on the ground. Brody Kimbrough was another key player, picking up 69 receiving yards and a pair of scores.
Sherwood's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Stockton/Sheldon, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.
Coming up, Sherwood will host El Dorado Springs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Stockton/Sheldon, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Skyline at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th.
