Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Desert Pines). Their defense stepped up to hand the CIVICA NV Wolves an 8-0 shutout on Thursday. It was an even better day for Eiyel Simpson Santamaria as he scored three goals for his team.

The victory (which was Desert Pines' fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-2-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 14 goals over those four matchups. As for CIVICA NV, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Coincidentally, Desert Pines and CIVICA NV will both be playing Centennial the next time they take the pitch. The Jaguars will head out to face the Bulldogs at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, while Wolves will play them later in the day, at 4:30 p.m.
