Soccer Game Preview: Fluvanna County vs. Orange County

The Fluvanna County Flying Flucos will face off against the Orange County Fighting Hornets at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Fluvanna County's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for five straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Fluvanna County fell victim to Western Albemarle and their airtight defense on Thursday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Warriors. While losing is never fun, Fluvanna County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 225th, while Western Albemarle are ranked 46th).

Meanwhile, Orange County hasn't lost a match since April 14th, a trend which continued in their latest game on Thursday. They never let Louisa County get on the board and left with a 4-0 win. The result was nothing new for Orange County, who have now won seven contests by three goals or more so far this season.

Orange County has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3-2 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 26 goals over those seven games. As for Fluvanna County, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-10-1.
