Softball Recap: Anderson Comes Up Short

Crockett hit Anderson with a eight-run fifth inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Trojans fell 17-13 to the Cougars. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, with their most recent defeat being a 12-2 loss back in March.

Lauren Montalvo led a balanced group of hitters, going 3-for-4 with one home run and five RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted three or more hits the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Abby Benson, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with two runs and two RBI.

Anderson dropped their record down to 13-14 with the loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Crockett, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-11 record this season.

As of now, neither Anderson nor Crockett have any future games scheduled.
