Hillcrest snaps six-game streak of wins at home

Recap: Hillcrest Trojans vs. Norte Vista Braves

It was a good run, but the Hillcrest Trojans unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of Norte Vista by a score of 73-70. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Hillcrest came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 166th, while Norte Vista is ranked 572nd).

Norte Vista found their leader in underclassman Carter Fulton, who scored 26 points along with eight rebounds and six assists. Fulton has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Bryan Ramirez, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds.

Hillcrest's loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-6. As for Norte Vista, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hillcrest will take on Ramona at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Ramona has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 28. As for Norte Vista, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Arlington at 7:00 p.m. Arlington has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 238 points over their last three matches.
