Jackson Academy had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 5-4 W against the Simpson Academy Cougars. While the Raiders didn't have the best season last year (they finished 13-20-1), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Jackson Academy's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Deuce Jenkins, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Jackson Academy's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Simpson Academy, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

Jackson Academy wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 9-1 win against Brookhaven Academy on the 6th. As for Simpson Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 10-1 victory against Stringer on the 1st.
