Baseball Recap: Northwestern Wins Going Away Against Reagan

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Northwestern). Everything went their way against the Reagan Bison on Thursday as the Northwestern Bulls made off with a 25-5 win. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

The team relied heavily on Jesus Rivera, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, five RBI, and three runs. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Bryon Fox was another key player, scoring four runs and stealing Three bases. while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Northwestern always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .789. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Northwestern now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Reagan, they are on a 14-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northwestern will take on Hialeah-Miami Lakes at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Hialeah-Miami Lakes is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season. As for Reagan, they will square off against JC Bermudez Doral at 3:30 p.m. on March 13th.
