Basketball Game Preview: Tiospaye Topa Thunderhawks vs. Oelrichs Tigers

The Tiospaye Topa Thunderhawks are taking a road trip to square off against the Oelrichs Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Tiospaye Topa will head out to face Oelrichs after giving up their first home loss of the season on Thursday. Tiospaye Topa lost 71-50 to Harding County. While losing is never fun, the Thunderhawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Dakota basketball rankings (they are ranked 70th, while the Ranchers are ranked 16th).

Meanwhile, Oelrichs was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were beaten by Edgemont 61-27.

Oelrichs' defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 6-11. As for Tiospaye Topa, their loss dropped their record down to 13-4.

Tiospaye Topa came up short against Oelrichs in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, falling 55-50. Can Tiospaye Topa avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
