Softball Recap: Havelock Takes a Loss

Havelock was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-6 heartbreaker at the hands of the New Bern Bears. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Rams of the 13-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Andria Krupey made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored three runs and stole Four bases. while going 4-for-4. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Addison Jones was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Havelock's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for New Bern, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Havelock will challenge South Central at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. South Central will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Havelock surely won't give up without a fight. As for New Bern, they will take on Apex at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
