Football Recap: Centralia Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Centralia dropped to 5-2 on Friday, ending the team's six-game streak of wins on the road dating back to last season. They were beaten by the Cahokia Comanches 40-8. Having soared to a lofty 55 points in the game before, the Orphans couldn't push the score so high this time.

Archie Goewey threw for 100 yards and one touchdown. Kenny Bratton was his top target, picking up 60 receiving yards and one score.

As for Cahokia, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-1. Considering they have won five contests by more than 23 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Cahokia's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Machai Henderson led the charge by rushing for 103 yards and a pair of TDs. The team also got some help courtesy of Nigel Gooden, who rushed for 63 yards and one score on only seven carries.

Coming up, Centralia will look to defend their home field on Friday against Mt. Vernon at 7:00 p.m. As for Cahokia, they are taking a road trip to challenge Collinsville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
