Softball Recap: Cherokee Triumphs

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Cherokee ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They walked away with a 4-1 victory over the Cherry Hill West Lions. The win continues a trend for the Chiefs in their matchups with the Lions: they've now won six in a row.

Cali Taylor spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up 18 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 12 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Luci Dandrea was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high.

Cherokee's record is now 13-5. As for Cherry Hill West, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-10.

Coming up, Cherokee will look to defend their home field on Monday against Eastern at 3:45 p.m. As for Cherry Hill West, they are taking a road trip to challenge Moorestown at 3:45 p.m. on Monday.
