Basketball Game Preview: Northwest Catholic Lions vs. East Catholic Eagles

Northwest Catholic is 1-9 against East Catholic since February of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Northwest Catholic Lions will look to defend their home court against the East Catholic Eagles at 6:45 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Northwest Catholic is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Connecticut's top teams: Windsor, who was ranked tenth at the time (Northwest Catholic was ranked fourth). Northwest Catholic took a 76-66 hit to the loss column at the hands of Windsor on Friday.

Meanwhile, East Catholic didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Manchester on Friday, but they still walked away with a 72-66 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.

East Catholic's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-2. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 83.0 points per game. As for Northwest Catholic, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 9-2.
