Basketball Recap: Sunnyside Comes Up Short

Sunnyside was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. The contest between the Blue Devils and the Cholla Chargers didn't end well, with the Blue Devils falling 69-54. While losing is never fun, the Blue Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 201st, while the Chargers are ranked 30th).

Sunnyside's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Cholla, their victory was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sunnyside will take on Mica Mountain in a holiday battle at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Cholla and Poston Butte will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
