Softball Game Preview: Baldwin Bears vs. Academy-Notre Dame De Namur

Baldwin is 2-8 against Academy-Notre Dame De Namur since April of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Bears will look to defend their home field against Academy-Notre Dame De Namur at 3:30 p.m. Baldwin will be strutting in after a win while Academy-Notre Dame De Namur will be coming in after a defeat.

On Tuesday, Baldwin made easy work of Friends' Central and carried off an 11-3 victory. That's two games straight that the Bears have won by exactly eight runs.

Jules Torres spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on four hits and racked up 12 Ks.

At the plate, Addison Milner was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Julia Baur, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one triple, and one run.

Meanwhile, Academy-Notre Dame De Namur lost 12-3 to Academy of the New Church on Wednesday. Academy-Notre Dame De Namur has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Baldwin's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Academy-Notre Dame De Namur, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Everything went Baldwin's way against Academy-Notre Dame De Namur in their previous meeting back in May of 2023, as Baldwin made off with a 13-0 victory. Will the Bears repeat their success, or do Academy-Notre Dame De Namur have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
