Recap: First Coast Christian Knights vs. St. Johns Country Day Spartans

The First Coast Christian Knights and the St. Johns Country Day Spartans squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but sadly the First Coast Christian Knights had to settle for second. They were dealt a 70-18 loss at the hands of the Spartans. First Coast Christian has not had much luck with St. Johns Country Day recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.

Leading St. Johns Country Day to victory were Kendall Proffitt and Mary Kate Kent. Proffitt dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten steals, while Kent scored 30 points along with eight steals and six assists. That makes it six consecutive games in which Kent has scored at least a third of St. Johns Country Day's points. Ashantii Williams was another key contributor, scoring six points along with nine rebounds and three steals.

First Coast Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 3-13. As for St. Johns Country Day, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 19-6 record this season.

First Coast Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. St. Johns Country Day is on the road again on Wednesday and plays St. Joseph Academy at 7:00 p.m. on February 7th. St. Joseph Academy is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
