Baseball Recap: Nanih Waiya Extends Winning Streak to Three

Nanih Waiya waltzed into their match on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They blew past the Velma Jackson Falcons 19-4. Considering the Warriors have won eight contests by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Kaleb Davis made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over three innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits (and only one walk). Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base.

In other batting news, Sanjiya Hickman was incredible, firing off two home runs, seven RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-3. Those seven RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kade Massey, who scored three runs and stole four bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Nanih Waiya was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .435. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Nanih Waiya's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-10. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.7 runs over those games. As for Velma Jackson, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-9.
