Basketball Recap: Reed Victorious

Reed won the last time they faced Hug and things went their way on Friday too. The Raiders snuck past the Hawks with a 45-39 win.

Faanaetaua Puloka continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, putting up nine boards and three steals. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in blocks (two). Another player making a difference was Asilika Manu, who posted.

Reed smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Hug lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Amaiah Ahonima, who dropped a triple-double with 13 points, 15 rebounds, and ten blocks. She has been hot, having posted three or more blocks the last eight times she's played. Cori Carrier was another key player, dropping a double-double with ten points and ten boards.

Reed's victory bumped their record up to 6-12. As for Hug, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-12.

Reed wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 50-45 loss against Spanish Springs on the 19th. As for Hug, they have also already played their next matchup, a 55-36 defeat against North Valleys on the 19th.
