Basketball Recap: Sports Leadership & Management's Winning Streak Snapped at Five Games

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Sports Leadership & Management can now relate to. They took a 65-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cardinal Mooney Cougars on Friday. While losing is never fun, Sports Leadership & Management can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 25th in Florida, while Cardinal Mooney is ranked fourth in Florida).

It was another big night for Kali Barrett, who dropped a double-double with 28 points and 13 boards for Cardinal Mooney. Barrett continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Sy'Monique Simon, who went 6-for-15 en route to 16 points along with five rebounds and four steals.

The loss snapped Sports Leadership & Management's winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 16-13 record. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 25.2 points.
