Softball Recap: Maclay Takes a Loss

Maclay couldn't beat Godby on Wednesday even though they stacked 11 runs on them in the first inning. The Marauders lost 26-16 to the Cougars. On the bright side, the 16- run performance marked the Marauders' highest-scoring contest to date.

Emmi Cayer led a balanced group of hitters, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with five RBI, two runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Lauren Ferraro, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Maclay's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Godby, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Looking ahead, Godby will square off against Leon at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Maclay will be paying especially close attention to the Cougars' game: after the Cougars face off against St. John Paul II, they'll take on Maclay again at 6:00 p.m. on April 1.
