Basketball Game Preview: The Carmel School Wildcats vs. Rise Academy Guardians

The Carmel School Wildcats just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Rise Academy Guardians at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in The Carmel School's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.

On Monday, The Carmel School was able to grind out a solid win over Grace Christian School, taking the game 84-74.

Meanwhile, Rise Academy came tearing into Tuesday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23 points) and they left with even more momentum. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Eagles 83-41. The Guardians have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 30 points or more this season.

The Carmel School better keep an eye on Trevonte Atkins. He was instrumental in Rise Academy's win, putting up 27 points and seven assists. Atkins is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Nathaniel Seaborn, who posted 17 points.

Rise Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 27 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive games.

Rise Academy's victory was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-5. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 78.7 points per game. As for The Carmel School, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a massive bump to their 11-7 record this season.

The Carmel School strolled past Rise Academy when the teams last played back in February of 2024 by a score of 83-68. The rematch might be a little tougher for The Carmel School since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
