Preview: Lakeland Eagles vs. East Lansing Trojans
Lakeland has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against The East Lansing Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Lakeland's game was all tied up 14-14 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They came out on top against Milford by a score of 28-21. That's two games straight that Lakeland has won by exactly seven points.
Meanwhile, East Lansing can now show off five landslide victories after their most recent contest on Friday. They blew past Everett 42-20. Given East Lansing's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan football rankings (they are ranked 56th, while Everett is ranked 209th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
East Lansing relied on the efforts of Benjamin Fletcher, who threw for 82 yards and two touchdowns on only seven passes, and Jace Clarizio, who gained 146 total yards and three touchdowns.
Lakeland's win was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 7-3. As for East Lansing, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 8-2.
