Softball Game Preview: Juniata Valley Hornets vs. Glendale Vikings

Juniata Valley hasn't had much luck against Glendale recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Hornets will face off against the Vikings at 4:30 p.m.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Juniata Valley's offense. They fell 3-0 to Penns Valley Area on Tuesday. The Hornets just can't catch a break and have now endured five losses in a row.

Braelyn Hall spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on five hits and racked up 15 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

Meanwhile, Glendale got the win against Ferndale on Tuesday by a conclusive 12-1. The victory continues a trend for the Vikings in their matchups with the Yellow Jackets: they've now won four in a row.

Juniata Valley now has a losing record of 5-6-1. As for Glendale, their win bumped their record up to 3-6.

Juniata Valley skirted past Glendale 9-8 when the teams last played back in March. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hornets since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
