Football Recap: Anderson Comes Up Short at Home Against Yorktown

Anderson unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They took a blow against the Yorktown Tigers on Friday, falling 55-0. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it 11 in a row.

Nate Luzadder had a dynamite game For Yorktown., rushing for 138 yards and three touchdowns on only seven carries. Luzadder also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, picking up 0.5 sacks, forcing one fumble, and making five total tackles (2.0 for loss). Another player making a difference was Sam Tokar, who threw for 198 yards and three TDs while completing 83.3% of his passes.

Coming up, Anderson will be playing at home against Indianapolis Washington at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Yorktown, they are taking a road trip to square off against Muncie Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
