Cony is 9-1 against Messalonskee since October of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Rams will face off against the Eagles. Cony knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 31 points or more in their past eight games -- so hopefully Messalonskee likes a good challenge.

Cony is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Maine's top teams: Gardiner, who was ranked 19th at the time (Cony was ranked third). The Rams claimed a resounding 54-10 victory over the Tigers. The win continues a trend for the Rams in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won six in a row.

Meanwhile, it can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Messalonskee had no problem doing just that on Friday. They walked away with a 35-28 victory over the River Hawks. The game was the first time the Eagles have beaten the River Hawks on their field since October 29, 2016.

Cony better keep an eye on Tatum Doucette. He was instrumental in Messalonskee's win, rushing for 164 yards and one TD while picking up 9.6 yards per carry, and also throwing for 203 yards and four touchdowns. With that strong performance, Doucette is now averaging an impressive 103 rushing yards per game.

Messalonskee's win bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Cony, their victory bumped their record up to 8-0.

Everything came up roses for Cony against Messalonskee when the teams last played back in September, as the squad secured a 47-0 win. Will the Rams repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
