Soccer Recap: Banneker Comes Up Short

Banneker was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They lost 8-0 to the Lovejoy Wildcats. If Banneker were looking for revenge after losing 10-0 to Lovejoy when the teams met back in March of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Banneker's loss dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Lovejoy, their victory ended a three-match drought at home and bumped them up to 2-7.

Banneker has already played their next matchup, a 12-2 defeat against Mundy's Mill on the 28th. As for Lovejoy, they will square off against Griffin at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Lovejoy will be up against Griffin's rather soft defense (which has allowed 6.58 goals per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
