With a playoff win on the line, East Clarendon rose to the challenge on Friday. They put the hurt on the Marion Swamp Foxes with a sharp 16-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Wolverines, who have now won eight contests by eight runs or more so far this season.

The victory was the fifth in a row for East Clarendon, bringing their record up to 15-6. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Marion, their loss dropped their record down to 12-9.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: East Clarendon beat the Swamp Foxes by a score of 4-0 later that day.
