Basketball Game Preview: Mountain Pointe Pride vs. Horizon Huskies

The Mountain Pointe Pride are taking a road trip to challenge the Horizon Huskies at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Mountain Pointe's tournament run continued when they took on Mountain View on Saturday. Mountain Pointe secured a 49-44 W over Mountain View. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Pride.

Mountain Pointe's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Marcus Isaac led the charge by going 6 of 10 en route to 12 points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaden Gollhuir, who posted nine points.

Meanwhile, Horizon entered their tilt with Buckeye on Wednesday with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Hawks 66-29. The Huskies have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 26 points or more this season.

Mountain Pointe has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. As for Horizon, they pushed their record up to 9-6 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Mountain Pointe came up short against Horizon in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, falling 62-58. Thankfully for Mountain Pointe, Craig Rodgers (who went 8 of 9 on his way to 23 points and six rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
