Softball Game Preview: Seton Catholic Sentinels vs. Pusch Ridge Christian Academy Lions

The Seton Catholic Sentinels will venture away from home to square off against the Pusch Ridge Christian Academy Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Seton Catholic fell victim to Yuma Catholic and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 12-0 to the Shamrocks. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Sentinels, who until this game were averaging 3.4 runs allowed.

Seton Catholic saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brooke Zuluaga, who went 1-for-2 with one double. Abbey Cota also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Meanwhile, Pusch Ridge Christian Academy unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They came up short against Mica Mountain on Tuesday, falling 13-1. The loss continues a trend for the Lions in their meetings with the Thunderbolts: they've now lost three in a row.

Having lost for the first time this season, Seton Catholic fell to 2-1-2. As for Pusch Ridge Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
