Baseball Recap: Berea Takes a Loss

Berea fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Bath County on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 3-2. The Pirates haven't had much luck with the Wildcats recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Berea saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ethan Slone, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases. Slone is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Tommie Banderman was another, going 2-for-5 with one run and one double.

Berea's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Bath County, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-11-1.

Looking ahead, Berea will venture away from home to take on Jackson City at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Bath County, they will host Owsley County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
