The Atlantic Eagles will take on the Monsignor Pace Spartans at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Atlantic's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 13 games.
Atlantic took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They breezed by Boca Raton to the tune of 76-37. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 21 points or more this season.
Atlantic's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jonathan Richard, who posted 13 points. Ty Watson was another key player, putting up seven points and three steals.
Meanwhile, Monsignor Pace lost to Cardinal Newman at home by a 67-52 margin on Thursday. The Spartans haven't had much luck with the Crusaders recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Atlantic will need focus on slowing down Jamaal Gibson, Jr, one of several Monsignor Pace players who made an impact when they last played. He went 7 for 15 en route to 19 points and three steals. Those 19 points gave Gibson, Jr a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Teagan Jordan, who scored eight points.
Atlantic's win bumped their record up to 12-9. As for Monsignor Pace, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-19.
Keep an eye on the arc in Friday's contest: Atlantic has been dynamite from deep this season, having made 48.1% of their three-pointers per game. It's a different story for Monsignor Pace, though, as they've only made 20.8% of their threes this season. Given Atlantic's sizable advantage in that area, Monsignor Pace will need to find a way to close that gap.
Atlantic didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Monsignor Pace when the teams last played back in February of 2024, but they still walked away with a 63-58 victory.
