Basketball Recap: Brevard Takes a Loss

Brevard was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 37-31 heartbreaker at the hands of the R-S Central Hilltoppers. The Blue Devils were not able to make up for their defeat to the Hilltoppers from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.

R-S Central got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Lai Flack out in front who posted 18 points. That makes it ten consecutive games in which Flack has scored at least a third of R-S Central's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alena Jimerson, who scored 11 points.

Brevard's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for R-S Central, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-9.

Brevard didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 40-33 win against Owen on the 8th. As for R-S Central, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 67-35 defeat against Polk County on the 7th.
