Softball Game Preview: Shady Spring Tigers vs. Scott Skyhawks

The Shady Spring Tigers will challenge the Scott Skyhawks at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

It was a proper cat-fight when Shady Spring took on PikeView on Friday. The Tigers blew past the Panthers 9-1. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Raegan Lane was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off seven hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Lacy Osborne was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Bryanna Shrewsberry was another key player, going 1-for-2 with three stolen bases and one run.

Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last matchup, Scott made sure to put some runs up on the board against Sherman on Friday. The Skyhawks put the hurt on the Tide with a sharp 11-4 win.

Scott's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-7. As for Shady Spring, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
