Soccer Game Preview: Ridge vs. Union

The Ridge Red Devil will challenge the Union Farmers on Saturday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Ridge is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. Their defense stepped up to hand J.P. Stevens a 7-0 shutout. Considering Ridge's offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Meanwhile, Union had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4 goals) and they went ahead and made it five on Wednesday. They came within a single goal of losing the streak, but they secured a 1-0 W against the Stateliners.

Union's win bumped their record up to 10-3-3. As for Ridge, their victory bumped their record up to 14-3-1.

Ridge beat Union by a goal when the teams last played back in November of 2017, winning 2-1. Will the Red Devil repeat their success, or do the Farmers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
