Baseball Preview: Sayre Redskins vs. Athens Wildcats
Sayre has been on the road for two straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Athens Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Two weeks ago, everything went Sayre's way against Williamson as Sayre made off with a 16-2 victory. The win was just what Sayre needed coming off of a 12-4 defeat in their prior contest.
Karter Green and William Crossett were a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Green struck out seven batters over 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and only one walk). Meanwhile, Crossett struck out seven batters over 4.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits (and not a single walk). At the plate, Green scored a run while going 2-for-4, while Crossett scored three runs and stole two bases while going 4-for-5.

At the plate, Connor Mosher was excellent, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3. Eli Chapman was another key contributor, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-1.
The victory got Sayre back to even at 1-1. As for Athens, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.
